I’m Claire (aka Mama) and she’s Poppy (aka Baba). Mama does the painting while Poppy does the “supervising”…The Poppy Patch was born out of a very dark period of PND where Mama was feeling somewhat lost after having her first baby. Becoming a mum during the pandemic is not something I’d recommend. It made the unknowns and fears of pregnancy even more heightened. Midwife appointments didn’t happen. And when they did, everyone wore masks. Once Poppy was born, her daddy was allowed an hour with us and then had to leave. We were in hospital for 4 days and he could only visit once for an hour. It was horrible. To cut a long story short, I ended up with pretty severe PND. I was fortunate enough to bond with Poppy straight away, but my head was a mess. I started scrapbooking to bring some light back into my head, which turned into painting and creating things for my baby girl. Nearly 4 years later - here we are. The Poppy Patch and everything I create is inspired by my beautiful Poppy and everything I create for you lovely people is made with as much love and care if it were being made for her.
